 The Plantation Course at Kapalua in Maui, Hawaii, successfully implemented the replacement of their existing irrigation system to a brand new, all-digital irrigation control system from Signature Control Systems, just eight weeks prior to the start of the PGA Tour’s Mercedes Championships.
When asked about replacing the irrigation control system this close to the Mercedes Championship, superintendent Craig Trenholme explained, "We wanted to be able to increase our level of water control for the tournament. The AURORA™ system offered advanced communication technology that helped us achieve just that."
Craig and his crew replaced 21 irrigation satellites with Signature Control Systems’ AURORA™ Central Control System. With the Mercedes Championship just around the corner, Trenholme was not concerned about the transition process. "It only took us about two weeks to completely change out 21 satellites on The Plantation Course," said Trenholme.
