SubAir Systems designs and manufactures subsurface airflow systems for golf course and sportsfield applications. SubAirŪ is a tool and process method that helps to create and maintain the optimum subsurface growing environment for grass. It does this by moving air through the soil, thereby controlling soil gas concentrations, soil moisture and temperature within the root zone. Grass roots respond to optimum root zone conditions by growing a deep, dense root mass.

The SubAirŪ patented two-way airflow system offers the benefits of both pressure and vacuum modes. The vacuum mode creates a downward movement of air through the soil and aggregate profile. Conversely, pressure mode creates movement of air upwards through the profile.

Both in-ground (vault) and portable systems are available. Portable units can be operated on multiple greens with varying soil permeability. In-ground units are buried, invisible from view, and sound-insulated by the ground. Play continues uninterrupted, and no on-site operator is needed.

The TurfBreeze concept was developed to provide airflow on the surface of golf course greens. The alleviation of stagnant air and excess surface moisture from rain, heavy morning dew, or frost are the primary reasons many golf course superintendents use fans on their greens. Better air circulation promotes an overall healthier turf environment.

With a durable mechanical design, TurfBreeze fans provide long throws and operate quietly. They offer an economical and convenient way to provide needed aeration during the hot summer months.

While once used primarily in the South, the benefits of turf fans have been discovered in all areas and climates. Many superintendents operate their fans around the clock from early June to early September, while others use timers to eliminate early morning dew or alleviate peak solar heating. No matter what your routine, you'll realize the benefit of TurfBreeze.
