Educational Requirements:
2 or 4 year degree in Turfgrass Management or related fields.
Possess a PA Pesticide Application License or the ability obtain a License within 60 days.
Experience Requirements:
Previous golf course experience required. Looking for a motivated assistant who can take on the challenge, of the superintendent role. Looking for a hard working individual who can thrive in a fast-paced environment with freedom, mobility, and opportunities for change and quick growth.
Special Requirements:
Superintendent position is for St Martins golf course, so experience on Poa/Bent push up greens is a plus. A working knowledge of warm season grasses is also a plus as the fairways are Zoysia grass.
Any experience with Grass Tennis Courts is favorable as the Golf Course Superintendent works alongside the Athletic Grounds Superintendent in maintaining the Tennis facilities.
Should have a positive attitude and be responsible by nature while exuding a friendly demeanor with a willingness to exceed member expectations.
Should have experience with budgeting, running a crew, overseeing a variety of projects, and flexibility within the role of superintendent.
Should demonstrate excellent communication skills both verbally and written.
Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision.
Should have knowledge of monitoring and repairing irrigation system.
Philadelphia Cricket Club provides the ultimate work experience in a fast-paced environment with a large membership network of 1,600 members that prides itself on moving the turf staff on to their own superintendent jobs. PCC recently had the pleasure of helping its fifth superintendent in the past 2 years get their own superintendent position. Salary Range:
45,000 - 55,000
Health insurance, paid vacation, 401k, dues for local and national associations, golfing privileges. Club will also provide temporary housing while getting acclimated to the area.
