Educational Requirements:

Job Tasks/Duties
 Supervises all golf course and landscape employees.
 Interviews, employs, trains and terminates employees under his direct supervision with the guidance through Human Resources.
 Maintains and cares for all plant life on the grounds of Sherwood Country Club
 Plans, organizes and directs the maintenance and reconstruction or renovation of all greens, tees, roughs, fairways, cart paths, water features, pumps, and irrigation and drainage lines.
 Ensures that the maintenance of all equipment is performed in a timely and economical manner.
 Schedules employees in such a manner as to obtain maximum benefit for the labor dollars spent.
 Prepares and submits an Annual Operating Budget along with a Capital Expenditure Budget to Director of Agronomy.
 Responsible for ordering all supplies and material within operating budget limitations.
 Maintains and cares for the golf course in a manner consistent with the expectations of the owner, members and management.
 Conducts monthly safety meetings and continuously updates his employees on any information regarding worker safety and hazardous materials.
 Through conferences, seminars and trade publications, maintain a thorough understanding of research, technology and management trends for the benefit of the golf course.
 Prepares the golf course for all special club events in a championship-like manner.
 Coordinates construction, renovation and maintenance of golf course greens, tees, fairways, roughs, drainage systems, cart paths, irrigation and pumping systems.
 Manages production and maintenance of the types of turf used on golf courses.
 Plans, cultivates, prunes and provides care of landscape plantings including trees.

Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations
 Thorough understanding and knowledge of the various fertilizers, herbicides, soil conditioners, fungicides and insecticides with desired certification by State of California for their application.
 Responsible for regulatory reporting, training and permitting while ensuring the facilities are operated and maintained within regulatory standards.
 Ability to establish short and long range plans.
 Participating knowledge of the rules and the game of golf.
 Valid CA driverís license.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to lift, walk, kneel and carry 50 pounds short distances. Ability to walk throughout the Clubhouse and Golf Course as needed to perform duties.

Salary Range:
$60,000 to $70,000
