John Deere 260 C

Good Afternoon,

My owner thought he was doing me a favor by purchasing 6 2006-2007 John Deere 260C walking mowers last winter. We walk mow tees and I am having a troublesome time at best keeping the quality of cut looking good from tee to tee. What seems to happen is the gap between the reel and bed knife widens on each end after just a few passes.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Jim

new tee signage

We are looking for an affordable new tee sign. Ours are old, tired, recycled plastic posts with horribly faded signage, broken ball washers attachments etc....

Need Simple. Hole # and par info only, something we can attach a ball washer (ugh, hate 'em) to. anybody have something to share. I liked Christian's down at Corales, still trying to sell that idea. all suggestions appreciated.

thx, JohnnyP

Last Toro Groundsmaster 300 series

I received a call from the engineering department at Toro. They "swiped" the last Groundsmaster 300-series unit off the assembly line for sentimental reasons, but now find it's just sitting there and needs a good home.

They inquired whether we had any ideas of how to put it into the hands of someone who would appreciate it but also benefit charity or something in the process. (I would actually love to have it myself but a 72" deck is a touch too large for my needs).

My first thought was a raffle to benefit the Wee One Foundation, but an auction might work too. Anybody have any ideas or suggestions?

I'll have to check to see whether the 1099 tax form issue would arise here, as it has with some other product raffles that I'm aware of.

Ranger Training. A priority or overlooked at your facility?

I just received an email from a company offering a training manual for golf course rangers. In the email were several examples of how people had posted online reviews of courses where they specifically singled out the ranger's actions, lack thereof, or attitude as a reason not to visit the course.

I assume this is a function managed by the pro shops, but I am curious to know in your opinion if this front line position is taken as seriously as it should - specifically relative to training?

The email also pointed out that some courses find it difficult to enforce things with rangers as many of them take on the position in exchange for golf privileges, meaning that they aren't "on the books" employees. I am in no way trying to promote this type of training, just curious what you guys think about how this position is handled at your facility.
