Bob Oppold of the International Sports Turf Research Center will be using case studies from golf courses and sports fields to help you to identify drainage problems, their causes and solutions. He will discuss the most common reasons why water stops draining, demonstrate the negative effect this can have on turf, and will show you what other turf managers have done to rectify their drainage problems.

In order to maintain high quality turf, you need to understand the challenges that go along with high sodium and salts in your water and soil and their effect on turf grass. Andy Moore, of Aquatrols will discuss the basics of Soil and Water Quality and will help you to find answers about what you should be doing to remedy the negative effects less than perfect water and soil can have on your turf.

Water repellency is an issue nearly all turf managers will have to deal with in their careers. Ken Mauser, of Aquatrols will examine the basic reasons water won’t penetrate and the effect that water repellency has on turf.
