Irish Open: Day 4

After only 3 hours of sleep last night I had to rise for work. I am tired, but energized at the same time. To work a tournament like the Irish Open is a dream come true. Never had I thought I would be working a golf tournament with big names like Rory McIlroy and Padraig Harrington among others. The experience so far has been amazing. Typical morning work mowing greens. The putting green was harder to see being that we got started a bit earlier and it was darker out. I noticed that the greens did not have as much clippings following yesterdays evening mow.

Headed back for a couple hours of lost sleep and watch some golf. The course looks great on the television. It is a great feeling to be able to say that I work on that course doing the preparation. Looks like a decent crowd turned out for the 1st day. Helps out that the weather is beautiful, less hot than yesterday.

Went back in at 4:30 to watch a bit of golf. Saw two groups on 18. Such a great finishing hole. To come off of a par 3 and have a slightly down hill par 5 with water on the back makes for a great finish. The crowds were buzzing and everyone was enjoying some good golf. The evening work of repairing ball marks was easy. The pro's know how to repair ball marks better than the regular golfer.
