The lead assistant reports directly to the Green and Grounds Superintendent and aids in the direction and participation in the maintenance of the golf course and surrounding property. CCY is private golf club in York, PA, established in 1899. The golf course was designed by world renowned architect Donald Ross in 1926. The club has hosted the 1999 U.S. Junior Amateur and is inquiring about another USGA event in the future. Over the last six years, in conjunction with a strong membership and a dynamic leader-ship team, the course has excelled through constructive change in addition to welcoming the best of the Pennsylvania Golf Association and the Golf Association of Philadelphia. Job Description: The Lead Assistant needs to be a self-starter with a good work ethic and stable work history. Assists in planning and supervising the maintenance of greens, tees and fairways. Develops and schedules the daily assignments and leads the crew in performing these tasks and the use of the equipment. Keeps records of all daily job assignments. Responsible for hiring and training of staff. Instructs greens staff on the operation and care of mowing and other equipment Must be proficient in calibration of spreaders and sprayers and responsible for proper application practices and record keeping. Supervises pesticide and fertilizer applications and/or operates and calibrates pesticide application equipment Ensures cleanliness and workmanship of pesticide equipment, proper record keeping and training of Interns. Attends all green committee meetings Assumes role of Superintendent in his absence
