Working with the Director of Golf Courses & Grounds & Equipment Manager, we are excited to welcome a Senior Assistant Equipment Technician for our South Course, which is currently under construction.   Apogee Club is a passion project presented by two highly successful businessmen, Mr. Michael Pascussi & Mr. Stephen Ross. Apogee is currently in the construction phase with plans to construct three, 18-hole golf courses, two short courses, a Himalayas-style putting green & two driving ranges over 1200 acres. The West Course, designed by Gil Hanse & Jim Wagner has just recently opened & construction of the 50+ acre driving range & South Course has already begun. The golf courses will be designed by Hanse Golf Design (West Course), Fazio & Davis Golf Design (South Course) & Kyle Phillips Golf Design (North Course). The main driving range encompasses over 50acres, has 360* of tee space, 7 acres of shortgame area & will be regarded as one of the finest practice facilities in the country. All courses will be blanketed with TifTuf turf & TifEagle greens. Rainbird IC irrigation will be utilized on all courses along with John Deere equipment.  The West Course Turf Care Facility is in the final phases before completion & construction of the East Turf Care Facility will commence in the late spring of 2024. The club is also in the process of constructing 2 clubhouses, 50+ cottages, spa/fitness center & will also have fishing, tennis, walking trails & pickleball.  Chosen candidates will be involved in the planning of a 35,000ft2 East Golf Course Maintenace facility, a 10,000ft2 facility along with outsourcing all new tools, lifts, grinders & other implements. An ideal candidate will have first opportunity to be a Head Equipment Technician of South Course in 2025. The primary purpose of the Equipment Technician position is to serve as the primary extension of the Shop and Equipment Manager to assist him/her in maintaining and conditioning the equipment fleet and shop facilities to the club’s standards. This is to include any equipment associated with the operation of the Agronomy Department, and at times other areas of the club. The Equipment Technician is to assist in the repair of failing equipment, routine maintenance associated with all equipment, keeping records of parts and labor needed to maintain equipment, as well as the ordering of parts and supplies needed for equipment servicing and repair in the absence of the Shop and Equipment Manager. The Equipment Technician will serve in the role of the Shop and Equipment Manager in his/her absence. The Equipment Technician is responsible for taking all measures available to prevent equipment failure and for communicating any needs or problems relating to the maintenance and repair of equipment to the Shop and Equipment Manager. The Equipment Technician will perform a magnitude of tasks within the department in accordance with daily production standards. In doing so, the Equipment Technician serves a vital role in producing the premier playing surfaces associated with the East Lake brand. The Equipment Technician will assist in maintaining a clean service area and shop, and places safety as a top priority. The Equipment Technician will work directly under the Shop and Equipment Manager. The Equipment Technician will always maintain a positive image for East Lake Agronomy in the field and in the industry while working independently and efficiently at all times, especially in the absence of a supervisor. The Equipment Technician will be responsible for continuous improvements to the member experience, balancing risk vs. reward ideology, timely and logical decisions, and maintaining the utmost confidentiality of club business. Essential Functions of the Job: ·        Assists in the performance of all duties as stated in the job descriptions for the Equipment Technician ·        Assist in onboarding, training and overseeing the Asst. Assists in the instruction and training of the maintenance workers regarding preventive maintenance, and the proper cleaning of and safe operation of equipment. Assists the Equipment Manager in the continuation of a preventive maintenance program within budget on all equipment. After instruction and with supervision, backlaps and sets HOC on all reel mowing equipment as instructed. Sharpens, balances, and replaces rotary mower blades. Checks out/checks in 2-cycle equipment and helps maintain inventory control. Helps complete shop area maintenance. Performs basic golf course/landscape maintenance practices when needed. Washes and returns all equipment to the designated location at the maintenance facility; and cleans the maintenance areas. Performs other duties as directed by Equipment Manager.
