Position Overview: As a Lead Turf Care Technician within our Landscape Maintenance division, you will take on a leadership role in ensuring the health and maintenance of turf areas in outdoor spaces. Operating independently, you will be responsible for organizing and executing turf care tasks efficiently and effectively. Essential Functions: Turf Maintenance Leadership: Lead turf maintenance activities, including mowing, edging, trimming, aeration, overseeding, and topdressing, to maintain high standards of turf quality. Demonstrate advanced knowledge and skills in turf care techniques and procedures, providing guidance and support to other team members as needed. Chemical Application and Pest Management: Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides in accordance with established protocols to promote healthy turf growth and control weeds, pests, and diseases. Monitor chemical usage and ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Operate and maintain landscape equipment and tools, including mowers, trimmers, aerators, and spreaders, ensuring proper functioning and safety. Conduct regular inspections of equipment and perform minor repairs or adjustments as necessary to optimize performance. Ensure proper cleaning and spray-specific maintenance of equipment, with the expectation that this role will eventually supervise morning tank mix procedures, weekly calibration tests, and weekly clean-out procedures, all via defined SOPs. Communication and Collaboration: Conduct regular inspections of turf areas to assess quality and identify areas for improvement, implementing corrective actions as necessary. Maintain accurate records of turf care activities, including chemical applications, equipment maintenance, and turf condition assessments. Qualifications: Experience in Turf Care or Landscaping Demonstrated background in turf care or landscaping, preferably with leadership experience. Knowledge of Turf Grass Species and Maintenance Techniques Understanding of turf grass species, maintenance practices, and common turf issues. Chemical Application and Pest Management Skills Proficiency in safe and effective chemical application for fertilization, herbicides, and pesticides. Equipment Operation and Maintenance Proficiency Ability to operate landscape equipment safely and efficiently, with basic maintenance skills. Communication and Interpersonal Abilities Effective communication skills for coordinating tasks and collaborating with team members and clients. Attention to Detail and Commitment to Quality Keen eye for detail and dedication to delivering high-quality results. Autonomy, Discipline, and Initiative Ability to work independently with self-discipline, initiative, and problem-solving skills. Valid Driver's License and Reliable Transportation Clean driving record and reliable transportation for travel to job sites.
