Irrigation Technicians will work closely with the Superintendent and Assistants to ensure all irrigation is working properly.  This includes all golf course, tennis courts and clubhouse irrigation. The Irrigation Technician will be responsible for minor repairs, audits and organization of parts room.  The Round Hill Club is an extremely exclusive club in Fairfield County Connecticut. The course was designed by Walter Travis and opened in 1924. The course infrastructure includes: USGA A-4 Bentgrass greens, Rain Bird 2 wire irrigation system (2013), Ciris Pro software to be installed this spring, new pump house with fertigation and new bunkers with Billy Bunker liners. The bunkers and green compounds were recently restored to their original design. Upcoming projects include: fairway expansions, tree work, extensive fairway drainage and long range planning. The club recently hired Andrew Green as our golf course architect and we are excited to get started on some great work. We are wrapping up a master plan that will focus on the potential construction of a state of the art driving range and practice facilities, extensive tree clearing, the addition of new tee boxes and the adjustment of fairway contours. We recently constructed a $1.3M chemical mixing, storage and equipment wash down facility this year adjacent to our current maintenance building. Comply with OSHA safety rules and regulations, and use appropriate P.P.E. Be available to work special events, activities and certain weekend days, as needed.  Perform other necessary Physical Plant duties, as assigned. Operate dump trucks and other light equipment in hauling materials and removing debris. Promptly report any equipment issues. Ensure a safe work environment by following all safety rules and wearing appropriate safety equipment including safety helmets, ear protection, and non-skid shoes. Occasionally supervise a small labor force for special projects, and perform other duties as directed by supervisor. Initiate contact with guests within 15 feet, with a sincere welcome and the willingness to assist the guest. At the conclusion of the guest’s visit, offer a genuine thank you and invitation to return. Always yield to the guest. Maintaining a clean work environment including picking up trash in visible areas and eliminating clutter.
