Cherry Hills Country Club was built in 1922 by William Flynn and has a long history of holding major tournaments including three U.S. Opens, two PGA Championships, a U.S. Women's Open, U.S Senior Open,U.S. Senior Amateur, U.S. Mid-Amateur, two U.S. Amateurs, and most recently the 2014 BMW Championship. We have also recently been named the host of the 2023 U.S. Amateur. The Grounds of Cherry Hills includes an 18 hole Championship course, a nine hole par three, driving range and practice facility, tennis courts, pool facility, and clubhouse. The championship course consists of poa/bent push-up greens with fairways, tees, and rough that are poa/rye/blue. The course just completed a renovation of all bunkers on the property, a redesign of the 8th hole, new tee boxes, and a creek addition.
Our goal is to provide you with the experience necessary to take the next steps in your turfgrass career.
Applicants must be enrolled in or completed a two to four year accredited turfgrass or related program
Experience is not required
Applicants must have a good attitude, be dependable, and be willing to do whatever is asked to meet our expectation levels. Interns are responsible for all of the spray applications throughout the course of the season along with becoming familiar with the operation of all equipment that the club has on hand. They will also be involved with any projects including sod, irrigation, and renovation if this type of work is going on at the time.
