Castle Pines Golf Club is an 18 hole, private, Jack Nicklaus Signature Design. The course is situated along the front range of the Rocky Mountains amongst towering ponderosa pines. Castle Pines Golf Club ranks as one of the top courses not only in Colorado, but also in the nation. Student interns will be exposed to all aspects of golf course management including but not limited to: equipment operation, chemical and dry fertilizer applications, daily golf course set up, reclaimed irrigation management, record keeping, and staff management. As part of the golf maintenance team, student interns will work alongside the Golf Course Superintendent and the Assistant Golf Course Superintendents. The internship will be catered to each individual’s personal and professional goals. Student interns will have the ability to experience the management of newly constructed USGA bentgrass greens and a new Toro irrigation system and Watertronics pump station. Pond and creek renovation projects are scheduled for the fall of 2018 into spring of 2019. In pursuit of, or recently completed 2-4 degree in Turf Management or Agri-Business.
At least one year of golf course grounds maintenance is preferred but not required.
Student interns must possess a positive attitude, a very strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn. The individual must be able to fit into a team oriented atmosphere and have a desire to grow personally and professionally.
Uniforms, golf privileges, employee meals, and intern housing provided.
