Stephen Rabideau, 851 Fenimore Road, Mamaroneck, New York, 10543,
Winged Foot Golf Club has hosted numerous major championships on both of its top 100 golf courses (East and West). Restoration of the West Course was just completed in spring of 2018. We are currently in the middle of building a state‐of‐the‐art Turf Care Facility. The West Course will host its 6th U.S. Open in 2020. A major focus will be placed on preparations and maintenance for the U.S. Open. Interns will be mowing/rolling playing surfaces, hand watering, assisting in liquid and granular chemical applications, and be involved in many small projects including irrigation and drainage. With a successful internship, we are hoping that interns will take the opportunity and return for the 2020 season and be a part of our U.S. Open team.
Applicants should be enrolled in or have recently completed a 2 or 4‐year Turf or Plant and Soil Science program.
