Sebonack Golf Club is currently seeking intern candidates for the summer of 2019. Sebonack Golf Club is a Tom Doak and Jack Nicklaus design which opened in the summer of 2006. It is located in Southampton, New York on Long Island directly next to National Golf Links of America and Shinnecock Hills Golf Club. We were the recipient of Golf Digest's "Best new Private Golf Course" award in 2008 and were the site of the 2013 U.S. Women's Open Championship. Sebonack just moved up to #39 on Golf Digest's Top 100 rankings.
Enrolled in a 2 or 4 year Turfgrass Management program or related field.
We are looking for students with at least one year of golf course experience who are willing to put in the time and effort needed to get the job done.
Each intern will be involved in a number of different activities including daily setup of the golf course, mowing, and watering. We will also get all interns involved in the application, calibration, and mixing of both fertilizers and pesticides to be applied to the golf course. All interns will be involved in many cultural practices at Sebonack including topdressing and aerating. Interns will assist and learn irrigation maintenance and repair. We always have a number of small construction projects which occur throughout the year that interns will be involved in. Work weeks are normally 60+ hours through the season so you will have the opportunity to earn plenty of overtime.
