TPC Sugarloaf offers 27 holes of private golf designed by Greg Norman located within the gated community of Sugarloaf Country Club in Duluth, Georgia. TPC Sugarloaf’s featured 18 holes, The Stables and The Meadows, are accented by tree-lined Zeon zoysia fairways, streams, lakes, and hills. TPC Sugarloaf also features The Pines course, a third nine that is slightly shorter in distance, but every bit as compelling as the original pair. TPC Sugarloaf is also host to the PGA TOUR Champions Mitsubishi Electric Classic.  The Club is currently undergoing a multi-million dollar renovation of the entire golf course, including re-grassed tees, fairways, and greens, state-of-the-art irrigation system, PermaEdge bunkering and many other upgrades on-course. 

 

TPC Sugarloaf is looking for an Intern to learn and assist in the Golf Course Maintenance department.

 

The Golf Course Maintenance Internship Program is designed to provide turf management or agronomy college students with a practical, hands-on learning experience in golf course maintenance operations, agronomic plan management and professional golf tournament preparation. TPC Sugarloaf offers interns the unique opportunity to develop a diverse array of skills in the maintenance of both tournament and non-tournament playing conditions.

 

The Program offers candidates the opportunity to gain the supervised work experience necessary to become Assistant Golf Superintendents. Students will be introduced to the agronomic elements of golf course maintenance as well as such critical concepts as personnel management, financial management, equipment operation and maintenance, maintenance facility organization and upkeep, fertilizer and pesticide application techniques, pesticide laws and regulations, member and guest communication, and environmental stewardship, among others.

Educational Requirements

Must be currently enrolled in a turfgrass program or a related field of study.   We will work around the student's academic schedule to determine a start/end date.  

Experience Requirements

Basic knowledge of golf course maintenance and the game of golf is a plus.
