Assistant Superintendent

Responsible for assisting the Director of Agronomy and Superintendent on all maintenance aspects of a high-end private club. This person will be accountable to report to and work under the Director of Agronomy.  Responsibilities include; all irrigation maintenance and repair, pump station maintenance, moisture management and water scheduling. This person will be taking ownership of inventories, bill coding, and cleanliness of pump stations. This person will be in charge of spring start up and fall irrigation winterization. Previous experience with fertilizer applications is a plus. The job also calls for a person with an exceptional eye for detail and someone who oversees the crew through their daily tasks. The person will be responsible for snow removal in the winter. This is an exciting position for one who is eager to learn different aspects and wants to grow within the golf industry.

Maroon Creek Club is a Tom Fazio designed exclusive private club located in Aspen, Colorado.  We have a new Toro lease package. We strive for excellence and to have the best playing conditions daily.  The club underwent a complete greens renovation in the fall of 2012 and then in 2014 installed a new irrigation system, along with putting in new drainage and re-surfacing the fairways with the latest low mow bluegrass.  Maroon Creek Club is one of the most beautiful golf courses in the country and has a membership that demands perfection.  


 


 

Educational Requirements

Associates Degree in turf related field

Experience Requirements

Previous experience with Rain Bird rotors and Cirrus software

Experience with maintenance and repair of a HDPE system is a plus

1-3 years of experience recommended

 

Special Requirements

Spanish speaking a plus

Ability to work well with crew is a must

Carry a positive attitude is a must  

Being able to have fun while still achieving goals a must

Eager to lean and educate

Self motivated

Versatile in all aspects of golf maintenance
