Congressional Country Club is seeking a highly motivated Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join the team. The 2019 season will be highlighted by beginning the full Blue Course renovation in November.  This unique opportunity will allow firsthand experience in a renovation at one of the most storied clubs in the country.

Located in Bethesda, MD, Congressional Country Club is the #1 Platinum Club in the country. Congressional has a long history of hosting Championships, host to three tournaments in the last decade alone, including the U.S. Open Championship in 2011 followed by two Quicken Loans National Tournaments. Assistants will be involved in the daily maintenance of two golf courses, Blue and Gold, and will work closely with the Superintendents and the Director of Golf Courses and Grounds. Assistants will manage and perform fertilizer/pesticide calibration as well as proper application practices. Daily jobs will include but not limited to course setup, irrigation repair, disease identification, and water management on USGA and pushup greens. Assistants will also be responsible for the management of a 50+ member team.

Educational Requirements

Degree from an accredited 2 or 4-year college turf program

Experience Requirements

  • Ability to work independently to carry out written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to visually inspect golf course conditions and clubhouse grounds
  • Good organizational and prioritization skills
  • Well versed in Microsoft Office
  • Possess a pesticide and fertilizer license/ability to obtain both within 90 days
  • Highly motivated and positive team attitude
