Assistant Superintendent
Harbor Links Golf Course is a high end municipal golf course located in Port Washington, New York. We are a 27-hole facility which includes an 18 Championship course and a 9-hole executive course, 4 athletic fields, mini golf course along with clubhouse and grounds. The course is an Audubon Signature Sanctuary facility designed by Michael Hurdzan in 1998 and is currently in the middle of a renovation plan redesign by Michael Hurdzan in 2018, with many opportunities to learn by doing on the job. We are looking for an individual to take pride in their work and have fun providing a superior product. The individual should be looking to gain a broad range of experiences to further their career and use Harbor Links for either a career stop or as a stepping stone into an area of some of the best golf courses in America.
Educational Requirements
A recent graduate of a 2 or 4 year turfgrass management program, or something similar.
Experience Requirements
Applicants should have a basic knowledge of golf course management and turfgrass management as a whole.
Special Requirements
Applicants will be responsible for and/or assist in all aspects of golf course management, including but not limited to, hand watering of all turf areas, golf course set-up, learning about a renovation and carrying out the needed tasks to meet those goals, implementation of cultural practices, fertilizer and pesticide calibration and application, irrigation troubleshooting repair and maintenance, equipment operation, small crew leadership opportunities, and chances for small equipment repair and maintenance. Must be able to obtain a pesticide license within 90 days.
