Piping Rock is a private club offering many amenities including an 18 hole championship golf course designed by "Golden Age" architects, C.B. Macdonald & Seth Raynor. The main property sits on the North Shore of Long Island approximately 1 hour east of New York and encompasses 320 acres of beautiful landscape.
Piping Rock amenities include a massive practice facility which in-turn is used for our annual 4th of July Celebration and Polo. Piping offers world class racquet facilities, including 16 grass tennis courts, 10 Outdoor & 3 Indoor Har-Tru tennis courts and 4 paddle tennis courts. Two regulation grass Croquet courts are maintained for competition at the highest level. Piping also enjoys an onsite Skeet & Trap facility, as well as a Beach club located north of the main property on the Long Island Sound.
Candidate will be involved in learning all aspects of becoming a Superintendent. Including golf course architecture, planning, budgeting, training, implementing, record keeping and daily maintenance in order to produce a wonderful experience for Members and their guests. The candidates tasks will include pesticide and fertilizer calibration and application, irrigation installation/repair and monitoring. He or she will be heavily involved in daily course set-up including hand-watering for fast and firm conditions as well as various mowing techniques and bunker maintenance. The candidate will also gain valuable experience in maintaining various surfaces including both Grass Tennis & Croquet as well as Har-Tru Tennis courts. Playing conditions on all surfaces are equally important and maintained at the highest level.
Candidate should have a 2-4 year Turf Degree or Certificate.
Recent or future graduates will be considered.
Ability to obtain a NYS Pesticide License.
2 Years of Golf Course Maintenance experience including a successful internship.
