Olympia Fields Country Club is a private club founded in 1915, located on the southside of Chicago and is comprised of two championship golf courses. The North Course, designed by Willie Park Jr., has hosted two PGA Championships, five Western Opens Championships, one US Senior Open and two US Open Championships, the US Amateur and the WPGA Championship. The North Course is also ranked in the top 100 of both Golf Digest and Golf Weeks list.
The South Course, originally designed by Tom Bendelow, has hosted many state wide events and along with the North Course is ranked in the top ten in the state of Illinois.
The club will host the2020 BMW Championship on the North Course from August 17-23. The club has also recently hired Andy Staples as our new Architect and he is developing a Master Plan for our South Course. Work is expected to begin in the fall of 2021.
There are opportunities to advance and I would hope that whom ever is hired will be able to move into one of our two Superintendent's positions.
Minimum of a two-year degree from an accredited turf school. Must have or be able to get an Illinois Pesticide Applicators License.
I would prefer an individual to also have at least one to three years of experience working on a golf course.
Must be able to provide valid documentation establishing legal right to work and be able to pass a drug screen. Must also possess a valid driver’s license with no DUI convictions in the past five years and agree to a criminal background check.
