Oakland Hills Country Club is a Donald Ross designed 36 hole, private club in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan established in 1916. The South Course is consistently ranked in the top 25 in Golf Digest and has hosted 17 major championships including the 2004 Ryder Cup and 6 U.S. Opens.Oakland Hills has contracted Gil Hanse to restore the famed South Course to the masterpiece that Donald Ross created.The restoration started in March 2020 and included irrigation, drainage and tree removal to start. In addition, all greens have returned to their original specs and were expanded using 3D Greenscan technology and then renovated to USGA specifications with Precision Aire vaulted units.This restoration also includes new bunkers with Better Billy Bunker, tees, fairways, irrigation, drainage, tree removal, and re-grassing to new and improved bentgrass varieties.
Certificate, two- or four-year degree in related field.
One to three years’ experience working on a golf course. Experience in fertilizer/pesticide application and calibration, irrigation repairs, hand watering, course set up, and managing small groups is a plus.
