Park Mammoth Golf Club is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.
Park Mammoth Golf Club is currently going through a redesign and wall to wall renovation under new ownership set for a possible grand opening 2021 after the grow in. The golf course sits on 120 acres just beneath a heavily wooded ridge that surrounds the course, making up the rest of the 800 total acres. The golf course is being grassed with Triple 7 Bentgrass on the putting surfaces, Tahoma 31 Bermuda on Tees Fairways and in the Roughs, and blend of Tall Fescue and Broomsedge in native areas.
As a key member of the property’s golf course maintenance team, the Assistant Superintendent reports directly to the Golf Course Superintendent and assists with the grow-in process and then day-to-day oversight of the maintenance and agronomic practices of the golf course and adjacent grounds, including but not limited to the clubhouse landscaping and maintenance complex as we approach out grand opening and there after.
Position Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
Supervises and trains foreman, irrigations technician and other employees in the maintenance department
Prepares weekly schedules for mechanic, staff, and other employees in the maintenance department
Monitors inventory of all maintenance equipment and the use of the equipment, preventative maintenance schedule, and safety training
Works closely with Superintendent in managing annual budget and maintenance recordkeeping
Works closely with Superintendent in preparing short-term and long-term agronomic strategies to maintenance of the golf course daily, weekly, monthly and yearly fertilization, irrigation, etc. schedules
Calibrates and operates pesticide sprayers and spreaders and record all applications
Available to work weekends, holidays, or outings as needed
2 year or Bachelors Degree(preferred) in Turf Grass / Golf Course Management or closely related field.
1-3 years turf grass management experience required
Supervisory experience highly preferred
A four-year college degree preferred but not required
Must have a strong business aptitude and passion for the golf business
Must be highly organized and efficient with a high attention to detail
Must have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Must Possess strong analytical and problem solving skills
Must obtain a Kentucky State Pesticide License with in 90 days
