The Roaring Fork Club is currently seeking a full-time seasonal landscape foreman to aid the horticulture team in daily projects and tasks. This position requires, planting, weeding, digging, pruning, spreading mulch and other soil amendments, general lawn maintenance and seasonal lawn practices. This position will also have a large role in dealing with annual floriculture, dealing with flower pot care and maintenance as well as annual in ground plantings. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, trust worthy and have a strong work ethic. Preferred candidates will have one to two years of previous field experience.
The Roaring Fork Club will also be undergoing a renovation of the irrigation system this coming spring in 2021. These areas include the lodge, pro shop, suites as well as several cabins. Last year we completed a large irrigation renovation of the golf course with a brand new two wire irrigation system and we will be expanding upon that to tie everything into one central program. We will also be changing old parts and equipment out to keep up with our ever-changing landscape needs and demands. This will be a great opportunity to learn and be a part of.
The Roaring Fork Club is a private 18-hole golf course and fly-fishing community with 65 residences throughout the property. We are located in the Roaring Fork Valley, only a short drive to Aspen Colorado. The valley boasts four world renowned skiing opportunities under Aspen’s umbrella of mountains, as well as two gold metal rivers for fishing. ·High School Diploma or further education
·Must possess a valid driver’s license
·1 to 2 years of experience preferred
oWilling to train the right candidate
·Helping the Horticultural staff oversee and participate in daily completion of work assignments being done by fellow crew members.
·Helping assist with field decisions regarding job procedures and work standards and machinery use.
·Application of fertilizers and pesticides to turf and ornamental flower beds along with detail record keeping of treated areas
·Routinely scouting for issues and problems as the occur: (i.e. disease, insect damage, irrigation needs and weed infestation.)
·Leads guides and directs employees in maintenance of ornamental flower beds
·Application of supplemental water as needed
·Ability to interact professionally with cabin owners and fellow employees as well as vendors and suppliers
oWhile preforming the duties of this job you are regularly exposed to the outdoor environment, conditions of extreme heat and cold
oHeavy lifting of 50lbs or more, crawling and bending
oDue to the seasonal nature of this position overtime may be required
