Assistant Superintendent

Wicker Point Golf Club is currently under construction on the beautiful shores of Lake Martin, near Alexander City, AL. The project includes an 18-hole championship golf course and a state-of-the-art practice facility designed by the world-renowned team of Bill Coore & Ben Crenshaw. Clearing of the site began in the fall of 2020 and construction will continue through 2022. The course will boast TifEagle Bermudagrass greens alongside Zeon Zoysia approaches, tees, fairways, and rough, with the edges of the course left in a natural state consisting of native grasses and pine straw. In 2022, Wicker Point will open a new & modern golf course maintenance facility and take delivery of a new equipment fleet.

This is a great opportunity to learn course construction, grassing, and help build a strong culture from the start. We will be building a fun, hardworking environment that encourages new ideas and allows everyone to have a voice. Candidates for this position need to be well organized, use critical thinking skills, and be an excellent communicator in a team atmosphere. Under the guidance of the superintendent, the assistant will be responsible for scheduling and will oversee the day-to-day maintenance operation. This unique opportunity will have the assistant superintendent working closely with the construction group, Landscapes Unlimited, as well working with and learning from the Coore & Crenshaw team in order to understand more about the construction and design processes. The assistant superintendent will report directly to the superintendent and will coordinate daily with the equipment manager and fellow assistant superintendents.
