Canterbury Golf Club is located on the east side of Cleveland, Ohio. The course was designed by Herbert Strong and opened in 1921. Since 1932, Canterbury has hosted 13 major championships including, the US Open, Sr. US Open, PGA Championship, Sr. PGA Championship, and the US Amateur. Canterbury is currently ranked #72 by Golfweek in their rankings of the top 100 classic courses.
We are in the final stages of developing a master plan and will begin implementing that plan with projects in the fall of 2022.
We are looking to add a recent graduate to our team that is an engaging, dedicated employee, and is willing to take the necessary steps to advance their career.
You would be joining a hardworking staff that has high standards for themselves and the product they provide but, has a good time doing it. Experience with hand watering, irrigation repairs, plant protection and fertilizer applications, drainage, crew leadership, and construction are a plus.
We have been fortunate to have two assistants leave in the last 5 years because they obtained their own superintendent's positions.
We are willing to train the right individual and recent college graduates are encouraged to apply.
Either a certificate, two, or four year degree in turf management or related field from an accredited university
Minimum of 1 year experience working on a golf course
An attitude that anything is possible with hard work
Willingness to learn and step outside your comfort zone
