Interns will have the opportunity to work closely with the Superintendent and Assistants in all daily maintenance operations. Our staff possesses a diverse knowledge as it pertains to golf course maintenance and many projects will be executed in-house. This internship will provide the applicant the opportunity to build a strong skill set to further their career in the turf management industry. Our number one objective is to prepare interns for their next step in development.
The Round Hill Club is an extremely exclusive club in Fairfield County CT. The course was designed by Walter Travis and opened in 1924. The course infrastructure includes: USGA A-4 Bentgrass greens, a state of the art Rain Bird irrigation system, new pump house with fertigation and new bunkers with Billy Bunker liners. The bunkers and green compounds were recently restored to their original design. Upcoming projects include: fairway expansions, tree work, the construction of a 3,500ft2 chemical mixing and storage facility, extensive fairway drainage and long range planning. The club recently hired Andrew Green as our golf course architect and we are excited to get started on some great work. We are wrapping up a master plan that will focus on the potential construction of a state of the art driving range and practice facilities, extensive tree clearing, the addition of new tee boxes and the adjustment of fairway contours. We will be constructing a million dollar chemical mixing, storage and equipment wash down facility this year adjacent to our currentmaintenance building. We are alsocontinuouslyimproving the property through in-house projects. The membership demands championship playing conditions on a daily basis and is willing to provide one of the largest 18 hole budgets in the metropolitan area to achieve that. The membership is composed of a group of exceptional Greenwich based families that are appreciative, grounded and a pleasure to work for. The position is designed to quickly furnish the intern with all the necessary tools to advance in the industry. Greenwich is a extremely upscale town but is only 20 minutes from 2 lively mid sized cities and a 40 minute train ride away from NYC.
