Harborside has embarked on a 5-year grounds capital equipment plan.In 2021 Harborside acquired several pieces of maintenance equipment including a greens mower, sidewinder, blower, and tractor.Additionally, several improvement projects have taken place that are golfer focused including 160 new EZGO lithium golf carts, on-course bathroom improvements, driving range net replacement, new GPS in 2022, golf course pump replacement and upgrades to Toro Smart Satellite Irrigation boxes.
Responsible for making applications and storage of fertilizers, pesticides, etc. to the golf course and related areas. Assists the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent with planning and operational procedures. Trains and supervises staff.Apply relevant landscaping, horticultural principles to assure that quality standards are consistently achieved and/or exceeded.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
·Supervise and perform various maintenance duties to maintain the golf course in proper playing condition according to Company/Site standards.
·Supervise and participate in the development and maintenance of drainage, irrigation, pumping and water reservoir systems.
·Apply pesticides and fertilizers to playing surfaces on a regular basis per the Superintendent’s application schedule.
·Participate in course construction projects.
·Ensure maintenance of all appropriate quality and cleanliness standards including, but not limited to, employee hygiene and uniforms, equipment repair areas, equipment storage areas, chemical and fertilizer storage areas, receiving areas, washing areas, lunch room areas, restrooms, etc.
·Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state and federal laws, OSHA rules and regulations, relating to chemical and fertilizer storage and disposal, employee safety, public safety, etc.
·Maintain knowledge of current and projected industry developments through continuous attention to industry periodicals and participation in relevant trade associations and organizations.
·Maintain accurate records of pesticide applications and proper storage pursuant to OSHA and GCSAA standards.
·Assist with all staff members completing all 4 levels of KemperSports True Service Training program.
·Assist with the desired company initiatives as it relates to KemperSports Green to A Tee Program as well as achieving/maintaining Audubon Certification for Golf Courses
