Founded in 1892, Greenwich Country Club was designed by Seth Raynor. Located 35 miles northeast of NYC, GCC is a progressive club dedicated to providing the best playing conditions on a daily basis.
GCC completed a major upgrade to the golf course in 2018/2019, rebuilding of all greens, complexes and bunkers took place. Transitioning from poa push-up greens to bentgrass USGA spec greens. In conjunction a new state of the art Rainbird IC irrigation system was installed.
Future projects call for relocation of 2.5 holes, opening up interior campus space for expanded member activities, construction of a new short game area and a Golf Learning Center, rebuilding of all tee complexes and new maintenance facility. Slated for 2022 is ongoing tree removal, extensive in-house drainage improvements, fairway conversion to bentgrass. Future plans include

Seeking a highly motivated, hardworking individual who is passionate about furthering their career in golf course turf management. Must have a strong desire to learn, a keen sense of awareness and attention to detail. Must be able to obtain a Connecticut pesticide applicator’s license within 90 days of employment.
Assistants will be involved in all aspects of golf course maintenance and play a large role in agronomic planning, scouting, calibrating, plant protectant applications and record keeping. Assistants will be tasked with small crew management and in-house projects. Some other duties include but not are not limited to; hand watering, irrigation scheduling and maintenance, minor equipment repairs, drainage installation, course setup.
Assistants report directly to the Superintendent and Senior Assistant Superintendent while working hand in hand.
Assistants plays a vital role in our day to day operations and are provided with a great opportunity to develop solid agronomics. GCC will also provide the right candidate with the knowledge and skill set to advance their career of becoming a Golf Course Superintendent.
