Assistant Superintendent

Springdale Golf Club is excited to announce the opportunity to join its agronomic team in the position of Assistant Superintendent. This full-time salary position will serve a critical role in the maintenance of the golf course through supervising the day to day activities of the staff, leading teams in small projects throughout the property, assisting in the development and execution of our agronomic plan, and fostering a safe work environment.

Formed in 1895, Springdale Golf Club is adjacent to the campus of Princeton University and is one of the first 100 golf clubs recognized by the USGA. The club features a historic William Flynn designed par 71 layout, revised in 1927 from the original layout in 1915 by Gerard Lambert. In addition to local residents, our membership includes administrators, faculty, and students of the university, which has had a collaborative relationship with the club for more than 125 years. The club serves as the home course of the Princeton University Men’s and Women’s golf teams in addition to a strong dedicated golf membership. Springdale hosts two NCAA tournaments each year for the Ivy League as a well as local and state golf association events.

As part of Springdale's commitment to its members, the club is currently in the fundraising and bid process for a multiple phase improvement and restoration plan for the golf course. The first phase of this plan is scheduled to be executed in the fall of 2023 and is focused on greenside bunker reconstruction,  select cart path installation, and drainage projects. The assistant superintendent will have an integral involved role in both the planning and execution of this plan. Prior to 2022, the club recently constructed three new practice greens and a short game area in cooperation with the Princeton University Golf Teams.
