Golf Course Superintendent


Oakdale Golf & CC, a member-owned private club in Oakdale California (The Cowboy Capitol of the World), on your way to Yosemite National Park from the San Francisco Bay Area, is looking for a new Head Golf Course Superintendent.  The Head Golf Course Superintendent directs the daily activities of the entire golf maintenance operation in accordance with the philosophy of The General Manager, the OGCC By-laws, & the policies & procedures set forth by The OGCC Board of Directors.  To ensure the highest level of service to OGCC Members & Guests, the Head Golf Course Superintendent must specifically perform, or oversee the performance of the following duties:  Development of an annual Agronomic Plan and operating budget, as well as prioritization of the capital budget for the department within the constraints of the overall club operating and capital budgets. The recruitment, hiring, and termination of all golf maintenance department employees as needed. The scheduling, training, and development of all golf maintenance staff, as well as day-to-day supervision of their assigned duties.  The direction of daily course set-up, including all tournaments and events, and the management and oversight of irrigation and landscaping of the entire OGCC property.  Attendance at monthly Greens Committee and Board of Directors meetings, as well as meetings of the Long-Range Planning Committee as directed by the General Manager. The coordination and communication of all tournament and event details with the Head Golf Professional or General Manager, as well as cooperation with the Restaurant & Events Manager or the Food & Beverage Director for special event set-up and considerations. 

Educational Requirements

High School Diploma and a minimum of a two-year turf-grass management program certificate required.  QAC or QAL required. 

Experience Requirements

Private club experience preferred.  Head Superintendent experience required.
