Under the Superintendent's supervision, the Assistant in training will participate in the golf course maintenance department’s day-to-day responsibilities, while maintaining a high standard of quality to exceed club expectations.  The individual will work with the management staff in the planning, scheduling and supervising the maintenance of the property.  He/she will participate in chemical and fertilizer applications, calibration of equipment, record keeping, hand watering and syringing of playing surfaces, operation and maintenance of pumps, irrigation and drainage systems. This individual must be self-motivated, organized, dedicated, detail-oriented and able to work in a team environment while maintaining a positive attitude.

Educational Requirements

Currently enrolled in a 2 to 4-year degree, or certificate program in turf management, or a related field.


Experience Requirements

Individual must have experience working in the golf course maintenance industry.

Special Requirements

  • Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Good oral communications skills
