Assistant Equipment Technician

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a strong mechanical background to join the Spring Run Golf Club family as an Assistant Mechanic. The Assistant Mechanic assists the Equipment Manager with the daily supervision of all maintenance equipment. Spring Run Golf Club is currently undergoing a no-till renovation, which entailed switching to Bimini Bermuda grass, expected to be completed August 2022. We maintain all Toro Equipment.

Position Type:
Full Time, rotating weekends required


  • Requires the individual to maintain flexible availability, will work weekends and holidays, may be required to return to job site at odd hours under emergency situations


Position Duties (not limited to):

  • Assist Head Mechanic/Equipment Manager in all tasks
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on a variety of small engines- oil changes, filters, etc.
  • Perform minor maintenance and repairs on hydraulic and electric components of equipment
  • Accurately evaluate, diagnose root causes, and institute timely repair procedures on equipment breakdowns
  • Maintain accurate information and reports of equipment and services
  • Perform various tasks associated with maintaining properly performing cutting units, including grinding, adjusting heights, and minor reel adjustments
  • Ensure all equipment operates efficiently and safely at all times
  • Inventory and maintain stock levels of regularly used items
  • Participate in safety training


Educational Requirements

Desired Skills (non-mandatory):

  • Bilingual English/Spanish 
  • Computer Skills – Excel, Word, Outlook
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver’s License

Experience Requirements

Position Skill Requirements:

  • Strong background in hydraulic and electrical diagnostics
  • Knowledge of small engines and landscaping tools
  • Strong work ethic
  • Physical demands are required for this position and might include, but are not limited to:
    • Regular Heavy lifting up to 50 pounds
    • Noise level in work environment is usually moderate
    • Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions including sun, rain, cold
    • Repetitive movement- standing, walking, twisting, turning, bending squatting, stooping, talking, writing, and typing
