Golf Course Superintendent

Medina Country Club, Medina Ohio

Medina Country Club, established in 1964 is a 27 hole private club located 25 miles south of Cleveland, Ohio.  Medina and its surrounding communities are one of the fastest growing areas in Ohio.  Purchased in August 2021 by Bill Cosgrove, the club has begun the renovation of the Golf Course, Driving Range and Short Game Area by renowned golf course architect Dave Zinkand, who has previously worked for the Coore & Crenshaw design team. This renovation project will take place over the next 3 years.  The club has also begun building the 12,000 square foot “Jim Wise Teaching Academy” which will be one of the top teaching facilities in the country.  The Academy will have 4 indoor to outdoor hitting bays, a large indoor putting/chipping area, 2 indoor simulator bays, a putting & chipping lab, along with a first class work out area, locker room, snack bar and lounge area.  We expect the new Academy to be completed by mid-May 2023.  Bill and his family are very excited for all the great changes taking place at Medina CC in the next few years.

The Golf Course Superintendent is primarily responsible for the planning, coordinating, and implementing of a comprehensive maintenance and development plan for 27 holes of golf, the Golf Academy and practice facilities. In addition, the Superintendent will be responsible for all landscaped areas with special attention to the Clubhouse and Academy.  This position is expected to work in partnership with Ownership, the General Manager, and the Golf Professionals to ensure the best course and practice conditions exist for all guests and club members.
