Bethpage State Park has five – 18 Hole courses that host hundreds of thousands of golfers each year.The Black Course has hosted two US Opens, two FedEx Cup Barclays Tournaments, the 2019 PGA Championship and will host the 2025 Ryder Cup.Our interns’ efforts are spent mainly on the Black Course, but they will spend time maintaining and improving each course at Bethpage.Bethpage is a unique, fast paced environment that will reward interns with practical skills that will provide a strong foundation for a career in turf management. We will tailor your internship to your skill set to improve your competence and confidence with the goal to provide Championship daily conditions for our golfers.In addition to the core maintenance practices needed to maintain and prepare our courses interns are also trained to spray fairways, tees and greens, assist with irrigation repair.If weather allows we tackle projects in season as well.Interns have assisted with drainage and irrigation installation, bunker renovation and tee construction projects in past seasons.In 2023, the Black Course plans to host regular outings and tournaments like the New York State Open, Long Island Amateur, plus College Tournaments and High School championships.Our other courses will host the Met PGA Assistant Professionals, local university tournaments, plus the Women’s Long Island Amateur.While 2025 seems a long time from now, we will be discussing and implementing long term plans for a successful Ryder Cup. New housing onsite offers great convenience, very close to Farmingdale Village and other amenities.
We are happy to take students at any education level and can tailor your experience to your education and skill level.
Same as above, whether you've worked at golf course for several seasons or looking for your first experience we can adjust your assignments to meet your skill level.
Housing included, our intern house is within walking distance to the Main St Farmingdale as well as the local train station for visiting NYC.
