Atlanta Athletic Club is a private 36 hole facility, located 25 miles North of Atlanta. The club has played host to multiple major events and most recently hosted the 2021 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship. In continuation of this legacy, the club has recently partnered with the USGA to host the following tournaments: 2025 U.S. Girls’ Junior, 2030 U.S. Amateur, and the 2035 U.S. Women’s Amateur. Opening in October 2022, the Riverside course has recently completed a rebuild and redesign, under the direction of architect Tripp Davis. The renovation includes an all HDPE irrigation system, sand capping fairways and tees, drainage installation, and reshaping for the new design. Atlanta Athletic Club will also be hosting the East Lake Cup in 2023.
Enrolled in a 2 year or 4 year Turf Management related field or Certificate program.
No experience required, but prior golf course experience is a plus.
Atlanta Athletic Club is seeking an individual that is hard working, driven to be successful, and willing to be exposed to all aspects of the golf course industry. The intern will work closely with the Assistant Superintendents and the Superintendent to make sure the course meets the high quality and standards the Atlanta Athletic Club expects daily. The intern will have the unique opportunity to receive hands on experience with the process of a complete rebuild and redesign of an 18 hole course. Our goal is to prepare the individual to confidently take the next step for his or her career in golf course management, when the opportunity presents itself. The individual will have the opportunity to work on both 18 hole championship courses.
