Equipment/Shop Manager
Berkshire Country Club is currently seeking an equipment/shop manager to join our agronomy team. Berkshire Country Club is a high end private club about an hour outside Philadelphia in Berks County. The equipment/shop manager will report directly to the Golf Course Superintendent. He will be responsible for the quality of cut, preventative maintenance of the equipment, record keeping, and ordering parts and supplies.
Educational Requirements
Certificate from college or technical school in automotive repair, diesel engine or similar field.
Experience Requirements
Working knowledge of turf cutting units regarding daily setup, adjustments, grinding and maintenance preferred. Minimum 1 to 3 years’ experience with turf equipment strongly preferred. Experience in the repair and maintenance of gasoline and diesel engines. Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical and hydraulic systems. Ability to maintain and keep a safe working environment. Responsible for ordering parts and working within a budget. Ability to communicate effectively and basic computer skills.
Special Requirements
1 to 2 years mechanic experience; excellent people and communication skills. Proven experience providing golf course equipment repair and maintenance and demonstrated outstanding customer service. Must possess willingness to learn and perform new golf maintenance service programs. Excellent communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, drive and motivation. Flexibility with schedule with every other weekend work required during the golf season.
