Seasonal Intern

Morris County Golf Club is a classic 18 hole golf course designed by Seth Raynor.  The club itself was established in 1894, with its current layout of holes being finished by Raynor around 1916.  Our goal in the grounds department is to create a partnership with an individual that wants to learn more about the turf industry and the day to day needs for golf course turf managment.  We intend this to be a true partnership of respect and opportunity for growth.  We know an intern can become a valued part of our management team thorughout a summer season and we want to support an individual through that experience no matter what their current skills are.  Our goal would be for an intern to learn more about applications (fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, etc.), mowing practices, course setup, tournament preparations, cultural practices, business management, project management, moisture management, and crew/team leadership.

The upcoming 2023 season will be exciting here at Morris County Golf Club as we wrap up new construction and rehabilatation at our maintenance facility.  The membership has decided to invest heavily in our facility and the completion of this project throughout next season will provide any intern a unique opportunity to see some of this project management first hand.  We also have some upcoming golf course projects over the next few years in preparation for the 2026 NJ State Open.

We want to allow freedom and flexability for our intern to focus in areas where they feel they need additional exposure and training.  If you are looking to gain something specific out of the upcoming season please feel free to reach out and see how we could work together.
