Equipment/Shop Manager
Job Summary
The Equipment Mechanic is responsible for maintaining all equipment used by the department, assuring the member/guest experience exceeds expectations. The Equipment Mechanic is an integral part of the Maintenance Operation and functions as an important player on our team. Additional duties may be assigned as required.
Essential Job Functions/Duties
· Implement a preventative maintenance program with accurate record keeping
· Trains and instructs the staff in maintenance and diagnosis of all equipment
· Upkeep of reels and bedknives which includes grinding, facing bedknives, and daily adjustment
· Orders and stocks necessary parts for the daily upkeep of all equipment within the constraints of the operational budget
· Tracks all expenses associated with equipment fleet upkeep
· Completes repairs and preventative maintenance in a timely fashion
· Responsible for the organization and cleanliness of the maintenance facility
· Assists in development of the annual Equipment Repairs Budget
· Works together with Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent in communicating with the crew regarding needed repairs and problems.
· Maintains a safe, organized, and clean working environment
Educational Requirements
Qualifications/Education
· Education: High school Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
· Experience: Five Years of golf course equipment repair and management experience preferred.
· Certifications/Licenses: Valid Driver’s License
· Other Knowledge/Skills & Abilities: Working knowledge of all turf and landscape equipment functions, systems and safety, cutting unit set-up, grinding, height adjustments, rollers, hydraulic theory and diagnosis, electrical theory and diagnosis, combustion engines, welding, etc.
· Basic understanding of the game of golf and the effects this position has on the overall condition and playability of the golf course.
Working Conditions
· Physical Demands: Required to be physically dexterous, so that you can work on your feet for long hours.
· Working Environment: Workers are required to be able to withstand extreme weather conditions.
