Assistant Superintendent


The assistant superintendent will work alongside the superintendent to create the best playing conditions possible each day for a high level public golf course. They will be responsible for preparing daily assignments for the crew and implementing them each morning. Productivity in the morning is very important because of how busy the course is in the afternoons.

The assistant superintendent will be responsible for spraying any surfaces throughout the growing season. Also responsible for applying fertilizer and any soil amendments. 

The assistant superintendent will have a large roll in water management on all surfaces. This will be there most important role, we try each day to give the turf exactly what it needs to be healthy while still providing firm and fast playing conditions. 

The assistant might also be asked to do any other job that any crew member might do on a daily basis. They need to know or learn how to do every job on a golf course so they can train others how to do the jobs. 

Educational Requirements

High school graduate, does not need to have a turf degree but is a plus. Will consider anyone who is interested in getting into a turfgrass management field or enjoys working outside.

Experience Requirements

Must know how to use general lawn maintenance equipment. (mowers, blowers, trimmers, ect)

Must know they enjoy working outside and is interested in learning more about the day to day care of a high level public golf course. 

Special Requirements

Must be able to obtain a Maryland state pesticide and fertilizer license within six months
