Assistant Superintendent
The Assistant Superintendent reports directly to the Golf Course Superintendent and helps lead Brookmeadow’s turf management team. This position involves oversight of all aspects of the golf course property including daily course set-up, general mowing and maintenance, pesticide applications, irrigation repairs and installs, management of course improvement projects, and crew management. Brookmeadow installed a brand-new Rainbird IC irrigation system in 2019, and is currently working through a master plan for course renovations. Ideal candidates have flexible schedules with the ability to work weekends and holidays during peak golf season.
Assist the Superintendent with personnel management (including training and scheduling)
Organize and execute day to day course management operations
Assist the Superintendent with irrigation management, scheduling, and troubleshooting
Organize and execute fertilizer and chemical applications and handle related record keeping
Assist with course construction projects
Scout/monitor for various pests on a daily basis, and assist with the development and execution of remediation plans (as needed)
Maintain organized records of product inventory
Inspect golf course and identify opportunities to improve the course
Educational Requirements
Certificate or college degree in turfgrass science or an agronomy-related field preferred
Experience Requirements

Required
- 2+ years of experience working on a golf course or in a position focused on turf management
o Must have (or be able to obtain) a Massachusetts pesticide applicator/operator’s license
- Preferred
o Certificate or college degree in turfgrass science or an agronomy-related field
o Prior management experience in the golf or turf management sector
o Golf course construction experience (including installation of bunkers, terrain features, and drainage systems)
o Ability to operate heavy equipment (including a mini-excavator, backhoe, and bulldozer)
o Spanish language proficiency
