Assistant Superintendent
Round Hill Club (RHC) established in 1922, is a premier, private country club located in the prominent town of Greenwich, Connecticut. It is recognized as one of the most prestigious private clubs in the Northeast and has approximately 650 members of varying member classifications. The highly-rated course was designed by Walter Travis and opened in 1924. The course infrastructure includes USGA A-4 Bentgrass greens, a state-of-the-art Rain Bird irrigation system, new pump house with fertigation and new bunkers with Better Billy Bunker liners. The bunkers and green compounds were recently restored to their original design. Upcoming projects include fairway expansions, significant tree work, and extensive fairway drainage enhancements. The club recently hired Andrew Green as its golf course architect and is excited to get started on these capital projects. There is also a new 3,700 square foot environmental center currently under construction that will be ready for the upcoming season, this facility will have space for the safe storage, handling and mixing of all pesticides and fertilizers. Included will also be a full carbtrol washdown station with covered fuel and mixing areas. Our Membership demands championship playing conditions on a daily basis and provides an extremely substantial budget to achieve those championship conditions consistently throughout the season.
The position is designed to quickly furnish the Assistant Superintendent with all the necessary tools to advance in the industry with the goal of gaining a Superintendent position at a highly regarded facility. The position not only focuses on the day-to-day maintenance and execution of in-house projects, but also provides the opportunity to experience the wide variety of administrative and management responsibilities including but not limited to, weekly payroll, CT record keeping and annual submissions for pesticide and water usage, reviews, invoicing and much more. Assistants are encouraged to attend a variety of professional events such as Met GCSAA meetings and also attend all Greens Committee meetings/activities. In season the Assistant Superintendents are directly responsible for the management of up to 25 team members.

Educational Requirements
Applicants must possess a 2 or 4 year turf-related degree. The successful candidate must obtain a Connecticut pesticide license.
Experience Requirements
Round Hill Club is looking for applicants with a positive attitude, team mentality and strong work ethic. Must be able to lead and motivate a diverse work force. This position is reserved for an individual who is driven to be successful in the turf industry, has held jobs with progressively increasing levels of responsibility and is always challenging themselves to surpass their personal best. The Assistant Superintendent is relied upon to schedule all maintenance tasks, manage personnel issues, monitor labor expenses, assist the Superintendent in the development of the operating and capital improvement budgets, execute agronomic programs, oversee the maintenance facility upkeep, participate in capital project management and many other tasks.
