Sports Turf Technician
Shrewsbury Landscapes, Inc. is seeking to hire a Sports Turf Technician to join our growing team.
Shrewsbury Landscapes Inc., is a leading turf management service company serving the golf and sports turf industry in New England. Clients include colleges, universities, independent private schools, golf courses, and municipalities.
Shrewsbury Landscapes, Inc. provides a wide range of turf management services for both natural turf and synthetic turf playing surfaces. Our goal is to help clients maximize performance and deliver safe, aesthetically pleasing, playable turf conditions for the athlete.
Candidate will perform typical duties associated with sports turf maintenance including operation of turf management equipment. Candidate must have a thorough knowledge of turfgrass management and basic equipment operation.
Educational Requirements
2-year turf management degree or equivalent is preferred but not required.
Experience Requirements
Prior landscape, golf course or sports turf management experience is preferred.
Special Requirements
Candidate must have a positive “can do” attitude; is a self-starter; able to work alone or in a team setting.
Candidate must have a willingness to learn and expand sports turf knowledge.
Candidate must have a valid driver’s license; a clean driving record; and be insurable by company’s insurance provider.
Candidate must be able to obtain a DOT medical card within 60 days of employment.
Ability to obtain a Massachusetts Pesticide Applicators License within 60 days of employment.
Candidate must have a willingness to obtain a Massachusetts Hoisting Engineers License (2A/1C).
Candidate must be willing to work in all weather conditions.
Candidate must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Job Benefits
Full time and/or Seasonal; Hourly wage $25 - $35 per hour ; overtime after 40 hours; holidays; medical; 401-K; etc.
Estimated annual income ranges from $57,500 to $80,500
