Golf Course Superintendent

Description of facility: Hickory Heights Golf Club is a semi-private facility located in Bridgeville, PA about 20 minutes from Pittsburgh.  The course is a par 72 layout covering almost 6500 yards.  The course has dramatic elevation changes that provide some amazing views and challenging holes.

Responsibilities:

Daily planning, scheduling and supervision of staff

Develop a staff consisting of people who want to work as team

Ability to calibrate sprayers and fertilizer spreader

Record keeping of all plant protectants and fertilizers

Maintain a safe and healthy working environment

Develop budgets that is consistent with management’s expectations 

Develop capital expenditures projections as needed (equipment and projects)

Provide a working environment where people want to come to work and enjoy their work

Perform administrative duties as needed (payroll, maintenance reports, hiring paperwork of staff, etc)

Work with management to develop timelines and work plans to accomplish future goals of the property

Education:

Associates, Bachelors or two year short course in Agronomy (or related field)

Experience:

At least 2 years experience as a lead or head Assistant Superintendent 

Posses or attain a Certified Pesticide Applicators License within 90 days of being hired

Working irrigation experience in installing, troubleshooting and repairing irrigation a must

Renovation and working knowledge of golf course construction practices

Salary and Benefit:

Salary is $79,500 – $90,000  

Medical with Employee Contribution, PTO, other benefits negotiable

Potential for performance bonus based on criteria set with ownership

Dues paid to Local and National Associations.  

Local Educational programs included (GIS can be discussed)
