Job Summary:

Under the general direction of the Golf Course Superintendent , installs, maintains, and manages the computerized irrigation systems, controllers and backflow devices in a safe manner. Primary accountabilities also include monitoring and operating the club’s computerized water management system and performing all the duties of a Groundskeeper position. Job requires well developed verbal and writing skills to present and exchange technical information and specifications with management, staff, co-workers, sub-contractors, and outside vendors.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

• Program computerized irrigation system at the direction of Golf Course Superintendent.

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair system components including raising and leveling heads.

• Organize and maintain inventory of system parts.

• Conduct regular audits of sprinkler operation and coverage.

• Small project development and execution

• Plan and execute seasonal startup and shutdown of system.

• Perform other duties as assigned, including general grounds maintenance.

Experience Requirements:

• Working knowledge of basic electricity and hydraulics related to an irrigation system, including automatic valves and controllers, and working knowledge of various types of pumps and pumping systems.

• Understanding of agronomy, turf grass science and the rules of golf.

• Knowledge of tools, methods and materials used in grounds and landscape area maintenance work.

• Ability to operate light motorized equipment.

• Ability to follow oral and written directions.

• Possession of a valid driver's license.

• 2 years of golf course or sports field experience

• Ability to follow company policy/procedures, complying with all administrative responsibilities.
