Superintendent/General Manager

Full-time

WCC is looking for a qualified candidate responsible for:

  • All phases of Golf Maintenance and Agronomic operations, cost control, and personnel.
  • All construction projects and maintenance of the grounds.
  • Administering and enforcing all Club rules, regulations, and policies for staff.

Duties Include but not limited to:

  • Oversees the care and maintenance of the turf, plants, shrubs, trees on the facility grounds.
  • Manages irrigation systems
  • Recruits, supervises, and retains maintenance staff. Conducts employee performance evaluations and exercises disciplinary action.
  • Provides technical, operational and safety training for employees to ensure that staff is working within OSHA, club safety, state, and federal guidelines for safe working conditions.
  • Supervises and participates in the application and recording of chemical applications (fertilizers and pesticides) on the Club's grounds in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Supervises and controls all maintenance expenses associated with Golf Course Operations, including payroll, supplies, chemicals, and fertilizers.
  • Schedules maintenance practices around member play and outings to maximize efficiency and minimize disruption to members.
  • Coordinates snow removal and winter maintenance activities when necessary

 

Educational Requirements

  • 2-4 year degree inTurfgrass Management or closely related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Golf Superintendent or 1st Assistant         
  • Pesticide Application License, or ability to obtain in 90 days
  • Prefer good command of Spanish language

Experience Requirements

  •  

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Computer skills required for financial reporting and control of operations.

·        Capable of clear and consistent communication with Pro shop and Ownership

·        Deep understanding of the rules and strategies of golf 

  • Valid Driver's License.

·        Knowledge of Local, state, and federal requirements for the shop as well as the course
