Assistant Equipment Technician

Firefly is seeking a reliable, self-motivated Assistant Equipment Technician to join our Golf Course Maintenance team. This position supports the Equipment Manager in maintaining and repairing all turf equipment used on the property, helping ensure daily operations run safely and efficiently.

The property is located approximately 30 miles south of downtown Nashville and approximately 15 miles south of downtown Franklin, on the east side of I-65 in Maury County. The gated entrance to the community will be on Highway 431, about 5 miles south of the new June Lake exit on I-65.

Firefly will feature a core 18-hole golf course and a 9-hole short course designed by Andrew Green, who has been critically acclaimed for his renovation of classic designs at Scioto, Congressional, Interlachen, Inverness, Oak Hill, and most recently East Lake. This will be Andrew Green’s first original design.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the maintenance, repair, and setup of all golf course maintenance equipment (mowers, utility vehicles, tractors, small engines, etc.)

• Perform grinding, sharpening, and adjustment of reels and rotary cutting units

• Conduct routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and basic diagnostics

• Maintain clean, organized, and safe workspaces in the maintenance facility

• Support the Equipment Manager with equipment records, parts ordering, and inventory

• Ensure all equipment is set up properly for daily course conditioning standards

• Assist with training operators on proper equipment use and care

• Respond to on-course equipment breakdowns as needed
