Hello and thank you for taking the time to look over my resume. I graduated from the Turf Equipment Technology program at Florida Gateway College (Lake City Community College) in 2011.
I completed my three-month internship at Grand Cypress Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida under the supervision and leadership of Tom Alex (Director of Golf) and Larry Smith (Equipment Manager).
I was the primary technician at Gainesville Country Club for approximately a year before accepting a position as an equipment technician for a local John Deere dealership. I worked for the dealership for three and a half years until they lost their franchise with John Deere which ultimately ended with my resignation from the company.
Through my work I have become proficient at small engines, diesels, tractors and a variety of different equipment . I have a strong emphasis in quality of cut and daily inspections of equipment. I have knowledge in setting up and adhering to a preventative maintenance program. I have experience with various means of fabrication, including welding. In the past I have utilized Microsoft Excel to create work orders, track equipment costs, document equipment repairs and maintain budget records. I strive to maintain organization and a clean work environment. I do have a vast collection of tools that I am willing to bring with me along with other shop equipment such as jacks, jacks stands and shop fans.
I am a born again Christian and my faith is very important to me. While I am open and honest about what I believe I never push my faith on anyone and I try to get along with everybody and enjoy a team environment. We have been staying in Lake City, Florida for my wife's career with the state, however we our both ready to move on to different opportunities. We have been actively preparing for a move and now we are just waiting for the right opportunity. Lord willing we are looking to be moved before the the first of April. We are looking to move further north and out of the state of Florida. We are mostly looking to move to North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, or Alabama. We definitely want to stay away from metro cities such as Atlanta, Memphis, Charlotte, etc. We do prefer the more rural areas, smaller towns, and four seasons, however we are remaining open to all possibilities. I do enjoy working at 18-hole private courses, but I am definitely not opposed to working for larger facilities. I am not opposed to working for a landscape company either as I do have a lot of experience with zero turns and rotary type equipment.
I am readily available for in-person interviews and I am willing to travel. I will remove my resume once I have secured employment, thanks.
