Equipment/Shop Manager or Turf Equipment Technician job

By Cody Burnsed,

Hello, thank you for taking the time to read over my resume. First and most importantly I am a born-again Christian. While I am always willing to share the Gospel, I do not push my faith in the workplace; however, I do ask that it will be respected.

I graduated in 2011 from the Turf Equipment Technology program at Florida Gateway College (formerly Lake City Community College). I got the opportunity to complete my internship at Grand Cypress Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida under the supervision of some excellent managers, Director of Grounds Tom Alex, and Equipment Manager Larry Smith.

I became the primary equipment technician at Gainesville Country Club for a little over a year before accepting a position at a John Deere dealership as their small ag and turf technician. Unfortunately, John Deere decided to terminate their contract with the dealership, ultimately resulting in my separation with the company.

I received an offer in March of 2020 from Grandfather Golf and Country Club in Linville, North Carolina as an Assistant Equipment Technician where I am still currently employed. While we are willing to relocate out of North Carolina, we would like to stay in a more northern climate with milder summers.

I am seeking an opportunity where I can use my skills to be an asset to my employer while maintaining my growth in the industry. Preferably seeking an 18-hole course that is not located in a large or metro city. Recently I have completed the GCSAA Equipment Manager Certificate Program Level 1 and Level 2.  Proficient in setting up, maintaining, and grinding reels, and have over six years’ experience diagnosing and repairing equipment of all sizes. Well organized and knowledgeable in setting up and adhering to a preventative maintenance program. A strong advocate in shop cleanliness and maintaining proper safety measures in all my work. I have a vast collection of tools that I would being willing to bring with me and would be willing to purchase my own specialty tools such as HOC gauges and bedknife facing equipment if needed.

Thanks again and I look forward to possibly hearing from you soon.

*Please note: I have not received a COVID-19 vaccine nor do I ever intend to.
