  2. Washington National Golf Club is looking for a Golf Course Superintendent to lead their Turf Team. Washington National Golf Club is one of eight facilities managed by Oki Golf. The focus of the Home of the Huskies is the golf experience and the world-class course, comprehensive practice facility, and exceptional service make Washington National a popular destination for tournaments, group outings, and recreational golfers. The Golf Course Superintendent will be responsible for all golf course maintenance, equipment repair & maintenance, club house grounds, landscaping and related structures and buildings (pump stations, comfort stations, etc). As well as be responsible for meeting or exceeding the established standards for guest satisfaction as well as labor cost control/management. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Must be proactive in developing innovative ideas to facilitate the continual delivery of exceptional quality products and profit contributions to the company. Interview and hire positions of the turf department; equipment manager, irrigation and spray technician, Assistant Superintendent, Superintendent, and all seasonal team members Assist in maintaining a daily record log for weather, course conditioning, cultural practices, equipment maintenance, fertilizer and pesticide applications, etc. Ensure proper safe work environment to include compliance with OSHA/WISHA and Oki Golf guidelines and standard operating procedures. Completion of administrative tasks such as scheduling, performance reviews, editing time for payroll functions in a timely manner. Positive and proactive supervisory, leadership, management and coaching skills. Possess good communication skills, both written and verbal. QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Knowledge of ordering/purchasing, inventory control, budget management and P&L accountability. Ability to multi-task while remaining focused on the key objectives of the property, department and position. Must be comfortable and willing to “roll up the sleeves” and lead by positive example. Bachelor of Science Degree in Turf Science, Landscape, Agronomy or similar field, or equivalent work experience. Restricted Pesticide License. Ability to compute rates, rations, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volumes of cones, cylinders, etc. Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to calibrate sprayers, spreaders, scientific instruments, computer software, irrigation systems, etc. Ability to operate basic software including word processor, spreadsheets, e-mail and irrigation control software.   5. The Golf Club at Newcastle is looking for an Irrigation Technician to join their team Turf team! The Golf Club at Newcastle is one of eight facilities managed by Oki Golf. The Irrigation Technician, under the supervision of the Director of Agronomy and the Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for the programming, operation and maintenance of the golf course irrigation system(s). The Irrigation Specialist is required to report any irregularities in course turf quality to the Director of Agronomy and Superintendent. RESPONSIBILITIES: Waters greens, tees and fairways. Operates irrigation heads in dry areas needing additional water. Repairs the irrigation system, pipes and irrigation heads as needed. Completes requests for irrigation and course parts and supplies. Grades and prepares soil base; lays sod; and seeds greens, tees and fairways. Operates dump trucks and other light equipment in hauling materials and removing debris. Occasionally supervises a small labor force for special projects, and performs other duties as directed by supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Working knowledge of basic electricity and hydraulics related to an irrigation system, including automatic valves and controllers, and working knowledge of various types of pumps and pumping systems. Understanding of agronomy, turf grass science and the rules of golf. Knowledge of tools, methods and materials used in grounds and landscape area maintenance work. Ability to operate light motorized equipment. Possession of a valid driver's license 2 years of golf course or sports field experience While performing the duties of this job, the team member must: Be able to work weekends and holidays, mornings and evenings as business demands.
